We took some scooters on a road trip from Luang Namtha up to Muang Sing in Laos. Then I took my Fujifilm GS645s film camera loaded with Kodak Ektar 100 with me for the walk. I got a couple of shots of the guest house and a buddha in a yard. As it got dark I visited a run down childrens playground. This video is deliberately slow, in a slow TV style. It is a relaxed view of Laos. We stayed in th...

The Gibbons Experience in Laos (Slow TV Version)

For those looking to escape the hustle of life, the Gibbon Experience in Laos is a chance to reconnect. While there is plenty of adventure to be had, for this video I slowed things down mostly to show the jungle, tree houses and nature - a slow TV edition. Good to watch before bed or sleep. The Gibbon Experience is a multi-day trek through the jungles of northern Laos provides an opportunity to...

Short film of a visit to Fort Begu and Chittorgarh Fort, in Rajasthan, India back in Feb 2020...I finally got around to editing this video over two years late. . We stayed in the Fort Begu Heritage hotel - which we can recommend. The palace dates back to 1430. Located right off the beaten path, it feels like a really authentic palace experience. Ajay, the owner and descendent of the Maharajah, ...

While we were there we looked in on the Jain temples, checked out the Patwa Haveli, wandered the back streets of the fort, explored the palace, sat by Gadisar lake, went for a camel ride and stayed in the beautiful hotel Killa Bhawan. We also ate some tasty local Thali. I first visited Rajast...
Chhekpa [Audio Track]

Here is my second track. I'm having another go at some version of kosmische Musik... Not sure I've got operation of the Grandmother under control - but the moog arpeggiator is fun. Visuals made this morning - featuring some suitably bleak icy coastline mixed with inky gloops. Mostly, it was a good way of procrastinating on some other work I should be doing.

Here is the first in a handful of instrumental motorik semi-electronic stuck at home noodlings - composed or completed during lockdown. To entertain myself, I've dusted off the bass guitar, fired up the Grandmother (Moog) and tried to remember how to drive a home studio. I've even made a bonus apocalyptic visual - featuring industrial dereliction, jellyfish and flowers...

    ...besides the elegant hotel you're staying in..hope you guys notice villagers houses falling to pieces...people living in extreme poverty, with no other rights than being slaves of a 63 years dictatorship...That's the real cuban tour...

  • @jorgel.martinez2648
    @jorgel.martinez2648 2 роки тому

    You know, the saddest part of all this, and the most outrageous thing, is that you foreigners see Cuba as a zoo, as an antiques fair. Your paradise is my prison. Every dollar that you spend in my country goes to the coffers of the dictatorship, not for the welfare of my people. Be ashamed and do not come anymore, my people suffer and you are helping that suffering...

    That's where the Spanish tortured Chief Hahtey and burn him to death. Because he didn't want to be in a heaven where the Spanish were allowed. Because a God that would allow people to be tortured and killed killed wasn't a heaven where he wanted to go.

    loved your video. we did Lumba Sumba pass in dec 2015 and we felt the same way. long tiring days, lots of landslides, there was a lot more snow at the top when we trekked . very cold indeed. loved the remotness of the place . did you fly there or took the bus? we made the mistake to take the bus from Kmd.

    Hello Ben , I have a question about the 5.8km unsealed road up to the Flora Car Park. Will a normal car be able to drive up this steep unsealed road in the summer?

    • @TravelCollected
      @TravelCollected 3 роки тому

      Yes. But it is quite steep and rough. I was in a small rental car and made it. Ideally your car won't be to heavy with people or gear.

    This cursed Covid situation made me look through your video, as I did a somewhat longer version of Lumbasumba trek in 2017 (Starting the traverse from Ghunsa). From what we could gather there had been only about 36 trekkers doing the trail during the autumn season. Olangchung Gola and Thudam are really some of the most impressive remote villages in the whole Nepal, and some of the trails west of Thudam are downright scary. This is no Annapurna Circuit or EBC...

    • @TravelCollected
      @TravelCollected 3 роки тому

      I wanted to do the version you did actually. But as we were already leaving quite late in the season (Nov) there was concern that the extra days that would have added would mean we wouldn't get across all the passes. As it turned out we could have, but you never know. Those remote villages were really worth visiting...and the trail after Thudam definitely had some hairy moments - especially that one big slip that has been there a while.
